Jacksonville's hard aquifer water belongs in every tankless conversation. The same minerals that scale up tank heaters build deposits inside a tankless heat exchanger, and without a roughly yearly descaling flush, efficiency and lifespan both suffer — so we fit isolation valves on every install and offer the annual service ourselves. Older homes in Riverside, Avondale, and San Marco often have gas lines sized for a modest tank heater rather than a tankless unit's higher draw, while out at the Beaches and Ponte Vedra, salt air argues for indoor mounting.

Is a tankless water heater worth it in Florida?
For many Florida homes, yes — hot water that does not run out, lower standby losses, and a reclaimed closet or garage corner add up to a real upgrade. It is not right for houses with small gas lines, tricky venting, or light hot-water use, and our free assessment tells you honestly which camp yours is in.
Can my existing gas line handle a tankless water heater?
Often not without an upgrade — a whole-house tankless unit draws several times the gas of the tank it replaces, and lines sized decades ago frequently cannot feed it. We measure your line during the assessment and fold any upsizing into the quote upfront.
How often does a tankless water heater need descaling in Florida?
About once a year. Water from the limestone aquifer carries a heavy mineral load, and scale inside the heat exchanger is the main thing that shortens a tankless unit's life. The flush is quick when isolation valves are in place — we install them on every job and can put you on a yearly schedule.
Do electric tankless water heaters work for a whole house?
Usually only with a significant electrical upgrade — whole-house electric tankless units draw more amperage than many panels have to spare. If your home is all-electric, we look at the panel honestly and say so when the numbers do not add up.
How long does a tankless water heater last?
Roughly twice as long as a tank — fifteen to twenty years is typical with regular descaling, versus eight to twelve for tanks in our hard-water area. Maintenance is the hinge, and we include longevity in the math when we price both options for you.
